July Service Updates Include More Evening Service and 95X Brightpoint Stop

Service updates begin Sunday, July 12, 2026. The changes include additional evening trips on Routes 5, 7A and 7B, a new stop at Brightpoint Community College on the 95X Petersburg Express, updated layover locations and schedule adjustments intended to improve on-time performance.
Riders should review updated timetables and check the Transit app before traveling, as some trip times may change.
Service Updates:
- Route 5 – Cary / Main / Whitcomb
Additional weekday evening trips have been added. Service will continue operating every 30 minutes until 10 PM before transitioning to hourly service. Schedule adjustments have also been made to improve on-time performance. - Routes 7A & 7B – Nine Mile / Airport
every 30 minutes until 8 PM before transitioning to hourly service. Due to airport security protocols, Routes 7A and 7B will no longer lay over at Richmond International Airport. Both routes will continue serving the airport before traveling to Lea Lane and Probst Street for their end-of-line layover prior to beginning the next trip. - Route 20 – Orbital
Schedule adjustments have been made to improve on-time performance. - Routes 4A & 4B – Laburnum / Nine Mile
Northern end-of-line layovers have been reduced to three to five minutes to limit extended bus layovers in the surrounding neighborhood.
- 95X – Petersburg Express
The 95X Petersburg Express will add a stop at Brightpoint Community College. Runtimes have been adjusted to accommodate the new stop. The route’s southern end-of-line location in Petersburg will also change at the request of Petersburg Area Transit. Beginning Monday, July 13, the Petersburg Express stop location will move near the corner of West Washington Street and South Union Street.
