Help Shape Richmond’s Future: GRTC Seeks Community Input on North–South Pulse & TOD Project

GRTC is moving forward with plans for the North–South Pulse Bus Rapid Transit line, which will connect Richmond’s Northside and Southside to the existing Pulse line. Now, we’re studying how to make the neighborhoods around the future Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations even better places to live, work, and visit. That’s where transit-oriented development (TOD) comes in. TOD focuses on creating walkable, vibrant communities near transit — with more housing, shops, jobs, and amenities close to where people ride. We want to make sure this development supports existing neighborhoods and reflects what the community wants and needs. Why It Matters The North–South BRT and TOD projects together will: Boost transit ridership Attract investment to the region Expand the bus network Support local zoning and development goals Share Your Thoughts We’re hosting a series of virtual workshops to kick off the TOD study and to hear from the public.
