Auction of the Arts Extended

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Main Street Station for TAP into Transit last week to celebrate the impact of Open Access Transit and support its future through the Transit Access Partnership (TAP). Good news, the TAP Auction of the Arts is going to be extended for another five days until Friday, July 24th! Opportunity still exists to score something special while making a meaningful impact in our community.
Each piece began with an authentic GRTC system map once displayed at a bus stop shelter, now transformed by the artists from All City & Friends into original artwork through painting, drawing, and mixed-media techniques. These retired maps have been re-imagined into unique pieces that celebrate public transit, creativity, and community connection.
Every bid supports GRTC’s mission to maintain Open Access Transit throughout the Richmond region. Keep scrolling to preview some of the auction pieces, or click through to browse them all.

By combining Richmond’s transportation network with graffiti aesthetics, the piece highlights the connections between movement, community, and creative expression. The underlying map remains visible beneath the artwork, serving as a reminder that both public transit and public art help shape the city’s identity, linking neighborhoods, people, and culture across Richmond.

Davi Leventhal is an interdisciplinary artist born in Rio de Janeiro and raised in New York City, currently based in Richmond, Virginia. Trained as a painter and draftsman, his work integrates the traditional Brazilian textile practice of fuxicos through his community-engaged initiative, The Fuxico Project.
