TAP Into Transit Week

October 20–24

Join us for TAP Into Transit Week, a weeklong effort to highlight the riders, neighbors, and donors who keep zero-fare public transportation moving.

GRTC needs $6.8 million each year to sustain zero-fare service. Through the Transit Access Partnership (TAP), we’re working to raise $2 million annually toward that goal, starting with a $25,000 campaign during TAP Into Transit Week.

Want to help? There are four ways to get involved:

How You Can Help

Make A Tax-Deductible Donation

Contribute online using the button above to keep zero fares and accessible service rolling.

You can also contribute by checks, please make checks payable to RideFinders, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit division of GRTC. Checks can be mailed or dropped off at RideFinders, 1013 E Main St., Richmond, VA 23219.

Travel Car-Free

Replace one (or more!) trips that you would usually make with travel by public transit. Snap a pic of your ride and tag it #TAPIntoTransit.

You can use the “Transit” app to plan your route, or contact Customer Service for help!

Increased Ridership Helps Us Improve Service

Every ride you take on GRTC Pulse, local or express buses, and LINK Microtransit helps strengthen our system. More riders mean more funding opportunities and a stronger case to expand and improve service for everyone.

Encourage colleagues, friends, and neighbors to try transit, even for one day.

Stay Informed, Give Feedback, or Care for Your Local Stop

Visit our project page to learn more about ongoing projects like the Pulse Western Expansion and the Transit-Oriented Development for the North-South BRT. Sign up for updates and share feedback to help shape the future of transit in our region.

You can also adopt a bus stop through RVA Rapid Transit’s Better Bus Stop Program which allows civic associations, organizations, and individuals to help keep stops clean and welcoming.

TAP

The Transit Access Partnership (TAP) is designed to allow the community to support Zero Fare, maintaining critical transportation options to jobs, healthcare, education, and more for our most vulnerable community members. Tax-deductible donations are made possible through a partnership with RideFinders, a registered 501(c) 3 affiliated with GRTC.

Advertising Program

One hundred percent of the proceeds from advertising goes to keeping our system Zero Fare. GRTC’s advertising program has a far-reaching impact to broad audiences. The mobility of transit vehicles allows for extensive geographical coverage and exposure to individuals on and off transit vehicles. Transit bus stops span the region and have exposure to riders and non-riders.

Community Partners

Our community partners helps support the Transit Access Partnership, allowing GRTC to offer Zero Fare service that benefits the community and contributes to growing the economy. GRTC deeply appreciates their commitment to our mission and our riders. With their support, GRTC can continue to improve rider mobility and equality for the Richmond Region.
