Run Richmond Event GRTC Bus Detours

DETOURS & DELAYS: Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025

4:00 AM – 2:00 PM

The Djimon Hounsou Foundation will close several streets in Downtown Richmond for a special event. This will cause delays and detours for the following routes:

#1, 1ABC, 2ABC, 3ABC, 5, 14, 50 & Pulse

Please plan ahead, some detours are required, and patience is needed as hundreds of participants travel through the area.

Street Closures:

• 3rd St. between Marshall & Main
• 5th St. between Broad & Cary
• 9th St. between Main & Cary
• Hull/14th St. between Commerce Rd. & Dock St.
• Hull St. between Cowardin & Commerce Rd.
• Main St. between 9th & 21st St.

Delays expected at:

• 8th & Main St.
• Main & 5th St.

ROUTE DETOURS

Route 1 — Northbound (NB):

• From Downtown Transit Station (DTS) → L on Clay → L on 9th St. → L on Leigh → resume regular route.
  Southbound (SB): via Leigh St. → 8th St. → DTS.

Route 1ABC — NB:

• From Cowardin (Rte. 1) → R on Cowardin → L on Decatur → L on Commerce Rd. → past Hull St. → Manchester Bridge → R on Cary → L on 14th → regular route.
  SB: 14th St. → R on Canal → L on 9th → Manchester Bridge → Commerce Rd. → Decatur → Cowardin → L on Hull → regular route.

Route 2ABC — NB:

• Manchester Bridge → R on Cary → L on 14th → L on Broad → R on 9th → DTS.
  SB: 1st St. → L on Leigh → R on 8th → DTS.
  From DTS: 8th → L on Broad → R on 14th → R on Canal → L on 9th → Manchester Bridge → resume regular route.

Route 3ABC — NB:

• Belvidere → cross Broad St. → L on Leigh → R on 3rd → resume route.
  SB: 3rd → R on Leigh → L on Belvidere → resume route.

Route 5 — EB:

• Cary → L on Belvidere → R on Leigh → DTS.
  WB: DTS → L on Clay → L on 9th → L on Leigh → L on Belvidere → R on Main → resume route.

Route 14 — WB:

• Franklin St. → L on 25th → R on Broad → resume route.
  EB: Broad → L on Belvidere → R on Leigh → R on 8th → L on Broad → R on 25th → R on Main → resume route to 23rd St.

Route 50 — EB:

• Broad → L on Belvidere → R on Leigh → R on 8th → DTS.
  WB: 8th → L on Clay → L on 9th → L on Leigh → L on Belvidere → R on Broad → resume route.

Pulse — WB:

• Main → R on 25th → L on Broad → R on 9th → L on Leigh → L on Belvidere → R on Broad → resume route.
  EB: Broad → L on Belvidere → R on Leigh → R on 10th → L on Broad → R on 25th → L on Main → resume route.
